After spending time in northern Bavaria, it is time to switch directions and travel to West Germany in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate along the Mosel River. The town of Cochem is the destination. Set on the riverbank with a glorious castle standing above it on the hill, this medieval town has endured a long, hard history yet still shines bright today. Even on an overcast day, the town is splendidly photogenic, making any more words unnecessary for this post. (Follow the link for more information on Cochem if desired.)
